I thought I had a journal here from 15 years ago when lj first went screwy, but it might have been deleted

I'm naotalba pretty much everywhere, mostly only active on Twitter these days but my fic is still on lj and some of it on ao3 too.
I'd love to find a fannish community again. Right now I'm deep in early 2000s nostalgia--stargate, the sentinel, etc. But I'm willing to read just about anything if it's well-written.

I love to beta, PLEASE reach out if you want a beta. I'm happy to do anything from a quick grammar check to a full restructure, according to your preference.

I’d really like to think about non real-world things today. I put this on tumblr too, but I have literally 3 followers there, so I'll try here too.

Warnings/Rating: M, warning for rape fantasy
Summary: The immediate aftermath of the defeat of Voldemort was a truly epic party. It's nice to feel like nothing has consequences, even if it isn't true.
Notes: This is hopefully the beginning to a longer series, but I like to think it stands alone.

I haven't touched this journal in a very long time. But my daughter is now old enough to be active on social media, and the best way to keep track of her is to friend her everywhere she goes on the internet. Which means that pretty much everywhere I go, my kid can read my posts. Except here, which is far too old-school and boring for her.

Also, my kid is now active in fandom. Worst of all, she ships Ryan Ross/Brendon Urie (I think I raised her wrong).

So I might start posting here again, especially if any of my friends are still around. I also re-watched POTC and am very much in the mood to be in that fandom again.

Also, I am archiving all my fics on AO3. If anyone has any tips or tricks (either on the archiving process, or on ways to interact with people there) I would love to hear it.

So this is a 2500-word scrap that's been hanging around far too long, thought I'd share. Not really complete, not what I set out to write, but I like it anyway.

So I suck and dropped out on remix- I put Buffy on my list of fandoms I write, and got assigned a primarily Angel writer, and I never watched Angel until Spike went over there. I started flipping out to the point that I was questioning my own sanity, so I decided to hit the default button early in the hope that the author would get something better than whatever last minute panic attack I could throw out there. Seriously, I was going to remix a Riley-centric character piece, that's how desperate I was for something long enough to remix and in canon I knew.

I saw

coricomile post something that I was on the list of people that needed pinch hitters, but since I'd already hit the default button I figured that was a mistake, and when she said I was off the list already I figured that it had just gotten cleaned up.

Nope, I got a fantastic pinch-hit, I Don't Know How You're Supposed to Find Me Lately (But Keep Thinking Of Me, I'll Find You First) by an author who is yet to be revealed but is completely obvious (in a good way, my dear, you have a very particular turn of phrase is all). Also, seeing me on that list inspired

coricomile to write With Eyes Open Wide (which is a remix of Party Favors, so the same warnings apply- it's underage dub-con). Thank you so much to both of you!

Everyone who reads bandom go and read them both, they are both great stories by better authors than I am (not being needy or anything, my self-esteem is just fine, I just know that I'm much better at coming up with ideas for fic than actually fleshing it out, and these two are some of the best in bandom at giving flesh).

And if you are reading this, person who was originally assigned me, you made the right choice dropping out. I know how much it sucks to be assigned to someone you don't feel you can do justice to, and how guilty you feel dropping out, but sometimes it is the best way to get someone the best remix they can get.
